History

Peter Lobin and Lydia Kuyawa-Dow formed Solid Waste Solutions Corp. (SWS), in the fall of 1998.  Mr. Lobin, previously owned a plastics recycling firm and Ms. Kuyawa-Dow, had been the Director of Recycling for a major waste disposal firm.   Scott Normandeau joined the company in 2004 after having been involved in the Environmental Services and waste disposal industries for over a decade

From the beginning SWS’ approach was unique to the waste industry.  Their collective experience gives them a distinctive perspective of the industry and an exceptional synergy that helps SWS meet its stated goals of reducing waste costs, increasing recycling volumes, maximizing revenues from recyclables, improving operational efficiencies, changing the culture and becoming more environmentally sustainable.

Over the years, SWS’ services have evolved to meet the many and varied needs of our customers.  Along the way, SWS has established strong strategic partnerships with companies in all parts of the environmental and waste management sectors allowing us access to a wide range of customers as well as offering a variety of tools for our toolbox in dealing with our customers’ waste and recycling related issues.
